It’s been a great couple weeks at the roastery. We have been open to the public now for three weeks, and things are off to a great start! We have made over 1000 drinks since our soft opening, gone through a couple hundred pounds of coffee beans and have made countless new friends. East Kentucky sure likes coffee, am I right? Our community has been unbelievably supportive and we are very thankful to be a part of it.

With our do good things mission, we have provided four businesses with free coffee.

Our first free coffee delivery was the Appalachian Wireless Arena. They have been a huge supporter before our doors were even open. They work hard to bring amazing talent and cultural opportunities for our community. For upcoming shows, click here.

Next was West Care Perry Cline Emergency Center. West Care empowers everyone with whom we come into contact to engage in a process of healing, growth and change benefiting themselves, their families, coworkers and communities. Their services include substance abuse and addiction treatment, homeless and runaway shelters, domestic violence treatment and prevention, and mental health programs. Third was the Hilton Garden Inn. The team at HGI has been great to send travelers our way for a unique cultural experience and delicious coffee. Learn more about HGI here

Most recently, was the Appalachian Pregnancy Care Center. They are providing assistance and counseling to mothers, children and families in need. For more information about their services, click here.

We aren’t finished giving away free coffee just yet, we will continue our mission of helping to strengthen our community by doing good things for others. Hopefully we can inspire an entire movement of kindness. There is a quote I heard while attending my brother-in-laws church, The Gathering Church, in Durham, NC that inspired our values as a company. “Because we exist on this planet, someone should be suffering less and experiencing more.” What a beautiful way to live life and do business!
