Norton, Virginia // Release Date: Aug 6, 2020 For Immediate Release
Norton, VA | Lincoln Road Coffee will be opening a new coffee lounge in downtown Norton, Virginia. Opening day is set for August 11th at 7 A.M. Guests will have the ability to safely dine in, take-away or use curbside pickup.
“The city of Norton is a great place to live and has a lot to offer,” said Blake Salyer, Managing Partner. “We wanted to be a part of bringing another excellent and unique asset to downtown. Not only will it be the best coffee around, but a stunning guest experience. If you truly love ‘good’ coffee, I guarantee you’ll be a Lincoln Road regular in no time!”
Lincoln Road began as a family-owned craft cold brew coffee company, bottling and distributing cold brew to grocery store chains and other retailers, but since then has expanded. Lincoln Road now has a coffee roastery located in Pikeville, Kentucky and from that location supplies handcrafted beans online and cold brew coffee to local coffee shops across Appalachia. Lincoln Road has a simple mission “drink good coffee, do good things.” They focus on making high-quality products and doing good things for their neighbors here and beyond. The new lounge in Norton will operate as a full-service coffee bar with the potential to become an event space for community and private gatherings. Partners Ryan Jones, Payton May, Jarred McGuire and Blake Salyer are excited to extend their brand into the vibrant community of Norton.
“Its crazy to think that we started in my sisters kitchen on Lincoln Road and now are in a position to expand even in the middle of a pandemic,” said Jones, Co-owner and Co-founder. “Our vision has always been to expand and to create a unique destination in Southwest VA, ever since my sister Sarah made the first batch of cold brew on the kitchen counter. In Norton, we took our time to craft an atmosphere where people will feel inspired. Rural Appalachia needs places like this to gather, and dream up new and innovative solutions. My hopes are that the Lincoln Road Coffee Lounge becomes a big part of this community.”
Lincoln Road was recently approved for a $10,000 seed capital matching grant from the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority (VCEDA). Read the full article here.
“We wouldn’t be here without the help of Fred Ramey, Norton City Manager, Executive Director/General Counsel Jonathan Belcher and Small Business Development Center Director Tim Blankenbecler,” said Jones. “The VCEDA seed capital matching grant was crucial for us to purchase the equipment needed and finish out the space to get things going.”
“Upon the first visit to Norton with Fred, I knew this was the next step for our coffee company. It was a cold day when we toured the city of Norton but I still felt the warmth and pride of the community. We are excited and looking forward to keeping Norton caffeinated and on the path of growth for this beautiful town.” said McGuire.
“We are thrilled to have Blake as our Managing Partner for this location,” said May. “He’s a creator, community minded and just a good person.”
The lounge is located at 736 Park Ave NW located beside Veteran’s Park and across the street from the old Coalfield Progress building. Street parking is available in front and behind the building. The menu will include a variety of espresso drinks, nitro cold brew, teas and other beverages. In addition to drinks, you will find a select menu of house-made breakfast, lunch and bakery items to enjoy.
